Gerard (Gerry) McConnell

Gerard (Gerry) McConnell, Creeny, Belturbet, Co. Cavan, March 15th 2026, peacefully at home in his 99th year, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Margaret. His brother Sean and sisters Peggy and Kathleen, sister-in-law May and brother-in-law Eddie.

Gerry will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Regina, his beloved children Martin (Susan), Padraic (Caroline), Paul, Margaret (Alan) and John (Evelyn). His adored grandchildren Niall, Dylan, Sinéad, Doireánn, Giles, Finn, Cian, Max and Leonard. His sisters-in-law Kathleen, Dorothy and Marguerita (Curry) and brother-in-law Bartley (Ann), nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Gerry will be reposing at Lawlor’s Funeral Home, Ernehill, Belturbet (H14 R583) this Tuesday evening from 6pm until evening prayers at 8pm. He will leave his residence at 10.30am on Wednesday morning to arrive at St. Patricks Church, Drumalee for 11am funeral mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
