Gerard Murray

Gerard passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care and comfort of St. Mary’s Nursing Home on Monday, January 27, 2025. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Nora Murray, sister Eleanor and brothers Dermot and Michael.

 

Cherished husband of the late Teresa, much loved father of Gerry, Jean and Valerie and a very proud grandfather to Mia, Kate and Joe.

 

Gerard will be sadly missed by Gerry, Jean and Valerie, daughter-in-law Ruth O’Malley, sons-in-law Fran Doolan and Eric Moran, his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Friday, January 31, 2025 - Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, (H91 V1K8) from 5 p.m. Removal at 6.30 p.m. to Galway Cathedral to arrive at 7 p.m. approximately.

 

Saturday, February 01, 2025 - Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Gerard at 12 noon. Following Mass he will be laid to rest with Teresa in Rahoon cemetery (H91 XW6) close to their home. Live Webcam Link https://www.galwaycathedral.ie/webcam
