Gerry Conneely

Nuns Island, Galway City, Galway

On Thursday night, 20th November 2025 Gerry died at University Hospital Galway following a long illness bravely fought, with his much loved family by his side. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Nora, by his brothers Séan and Joe and by his sisters Teresa Harlow and recently deceased May Tierney.


He is deeply mourned and will always be dearly missed by his much loved wife Sarah and son Paul, sister Ann Quirke, daughter-in-law Sharon, by his adored grandchildren Jai and Katie, nephews, and nieces in particular by "my adopted daughter” Martina and her sister Amy, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, the extended Conneely family, neighbours and lovely friends.

Funeral Arrangements:
Monday, 24th November 2025
Reposing at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91V1K8) from 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. No Removal to the Church this evening.

 

Tuesday, 25th November 2025
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Gerry at St. Joseph's Church, Presentation Road on arrival at 11.00 a.m. Following Mass he will be laid to rest in the new cemetery, Bohermore. Mass will be live streamed. Link https://mcn.live/Camera/st-josephs-church-galway

Please approach the funeral parlour entrance on foot from Fr. Burke Park. Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within Claddagh, on Henry Street and Sea Road. Parking may be scarce on Munster Avenue.

 

Car Parks within walking distance: The Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch and Mill Street which is adjacent to the Garda Station.
