The death has occurred of
Gregory Denis Hodkinson
Gregory Denis Hodkinson, age 47 of Weehawken, New Jersey passed away on Easter Sunday morning on April 12, 2020. Greg was born in Limerick, Ireland on February 20, 1973, the fifth child of Marion and Henry Denis Hodkinson of Castletroy, Limerick. Greg is joining his dad Henry in heaven, he is survived by his dear mom Marion, his loving wife Natasha Gibbons-Hodkinson, and his siblings Harry, Kenneth, Edith and Hilary and 7 nieces and 7 nephews as well as his cousins, uncles and Aunty Audrey.
Greg grew up in Limerick, spent his summers in his beloved Kilkee and after a short stay in London and Paris, settled in New York/New Jersey where his sister and older brother live. Greg earned a business degree from Baruch while working in the financial services industry for companies such as Bank of America, UBS, Morgan Stanley, and Blackstone. He met his loving wife in Hoboken, NJ and was married on August 16, 2015. Greg became a cherished member of the Gibbons family and was loved greatly by Joy, Sasha, Natalie, Shannon and his extended family. Greg will be remembered for his love of life and his incredible kindness and generosity to all. He loved people, never met a stranger, and was adored by everyone he met. When Greg smiled, he lit up a room. He was passionate about his cooking, sense of well dressed presentation, music, playing sudoku and enjoyment of travels, having so many amazing travel adventures with his wife Natasha.
Greg will be especially remembered for his sense of close connectedness to God and demonstrated such a sense of love by kneeling to God in every temple, church, cathedral, and mosque he visited on his travel adventures around the world. He held his faith in God closely to his heart and attended Mass on Sundays with his wife, Natasha. Greg stayed in touch with his many childhood friends in Ireland, frequently visiting his homeland.
He will be sorely missed by so many but even through this tragic loss, memories of Greg will bring a smile to so many. Due to travel and isolation restrictions Greg’s life will be celebrated with a viewing and prayer service for immediate family members only.
There will be a memorial service in Limerick, Ireland at a later date. A memorial service will be held in loving memory of Greg in the future coming months.
