Gretta Fahy
(née Downey)
Formerly of Cooleney, Kiltormer
Gretta passed away peacefully on 21st February 2026, surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at Knock Ash, St Brendan’s Community Nursing Unit, Loughrea.
Predeceased by her husband Gerry, parents Mary Ann and Patrick, brothers Tom and Patsy, sisters Sr. Elizabeth and Sr. Teresa and niece Ann.
Gretta will be dearly missed and forever loved by her daughters Anna, Evelyn and Patricia, her son Gerard, her sons-in-law Liam, Kieran and Johnny, her daughter-in-law Mary, and her beloved granddaughters Aisling, Ciara and Margaritte.
Gretta will be sadly missed by her sisters Bridie and Sr Nora, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace.
Gretta will repose at Kiltormer Sports Complex (H53 P653) on Monday 23rd February, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm with removal afterwards to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Killoran, Ballinasloe (H53 Y677).
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 24th February at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
