Gussie (Augustine) Ricken

RICKEN (Cork) On 30th September 2023, after an illness courageously fought surrounded by his family and under the dedicated care of Dr. James Ryan and staff of the Mercy University Hospital, GUSSIE (AUGUSTINE), late of Fair Street, Gurranabraher and Knocknaheeny, proud father of Keith, Laura, Sandra and Jean. Predeceased by his parents Nora and Austin, brother Eddie and sisters Marie and Eily.

 

Gussie will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his children and their mother Betty and her family, his sons-in-law Bilal Doghmane, Micheál Ferriter and daughter-in-law Caroline (Power), his grandchildren Eimear, Aisling, Róisín, Ava, Max and Caoimhe, brothers Freddie, Declan, Timmy and sisters Pat, Lilly, Theresa, Kathleen, Celia and all their families, his neighbours and his many friends.

 

Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street on Wednesday (4th October) from 11.00am, family in attendance from 5.30pm with Rosary at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday (5th October) at 11.00am in the North Cathedral. If you wish to view the Mass, click on http://www.corkcathedral.ie and follow link. As per his wishes, this will be followed by a private family service at The Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Ringaskiddy. Interment at his parents resting place in Rathcooney Cemetery at a later date.
