O' Brien, Coronea, Skibbereen. Peacefully on December 22nd, 2024 after a long illness bravely borne, under the exceptional care and kindness of the staff at Marymount Hospice in the presence of her heartbroken family. HESTER,
beloved wife of Billy and loving mother of Rachel and Lisa. Predeceased by her mother Betty, father John Christopher, brother Martin and niece Clarissa. Sadly missed by her loving husband and daughters, sons-in-law Dáire and Daniel, her adoring grandchildren Lauren, Kasey, Charlie, Ava, Ella, Jake and Taylor, her loyal companion Daisy, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, kind neighbours and friends.

 

May Hester Rest In Peace

 

Reposing at her residence in Coronea (P81 RH92) on Thursday, 26th December (St.Stephen's Day) from 2pm to 5pm followed by prayers. Please adhere to one way traffic system and signage which will be in place, commencing from Assolus Cross, Baltimore Road. Requiem Mass on Friday 27th December, at 12 noon in St.Patrick's Cathedral, Skibbereen livestreamed via http://Skibbereenandrath.ie followed by private cremation.


Hesters family would like to thank Dr. Don Creagh, Dr.Helen Quirke, Dr.Gerard O' Shaughnessy and all the staff and former work colleagues of Skibbereen Medical Centre for their support and compassion during her illness. They would also like to thank West Cork Palliative Care, Public Health Nurses Kitty and Paula and all the staff of Hamilton’s Pharmacy. Thank you also to Professor Power and his team for their care. They cannot thank the staff of Marymount Hospice enough for their outstanding level of care, kindness and empathy at such a difficult time.
