Hugh Bernard O'Donoghue

The death has occurred peacefully of Hugh Bernard (Barney) O’Donoghue MPSI, Cavan Road, Virginia, Co. Cavan peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on 29 July 2022.

Predeceased by his parents, brothers and sisters.

Much loved husband of Bernie and loving father of Ann (Towey; Meath), Tadhg, Gráinne (Smart), Róisin (Kelly), Brian and Tom (Newbridge). Hugh Bernard will be sadly missed  by his  wife, sons and daughters, his daughters in law Áine and Elsie, sons in law Fintan, Martin and Maurice, his cherished and adored grandchildren; Aisling, Shane, Cian, Michéal, Connor, Cameron, Euan, Andrew, Ruth, James, Meabh, Sinéad, Séan, Roisin, Tomás, Jessica, Abbey and Beth, his brother Alo (Clontarf), his sisters Philomena (England) and Sr. Veronica (Dublin), brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Rest In Peace

Remains reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Saturday from 4 o’clock until 8 o’clock. The family respectfully request a walk through only with no hand shaking please. Removal to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia via Main Street, arriving for 3 o’clock Funeral Mass on Sunday with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

As a mark of respect, O’Donoghue’s Pharmacy, Main Street, Virginia and Gormleys Pharmacy, Ballyjamesduff will be closed on Saturday.
