The death has occurred of
Hugh McDermott
McDERMOTT Hugh Francis (Anglet, France formerly of Rathbrist House, Tallanstown, Co Louth), passed away peacefully at home in his beloved Villa Chantanika on 27th August 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Beloved son of Edward and Bridget, brother of Dermot and Ann and adoring husband to Marie. Hugh is survived by his children Sean-Pierre, Hilary and Aisling, their spouses Bilgi, Charles and Cameron and grandchildren Nicole, Hugo and Edson.
May he Rest in Peace.
Hugh requested a small funeral in Anglet, followed by cremation. Given the location, we invite you to pause and reflect on his life at 2pm on Monday, 15th September 2025. Instead of sending flowers, donations can be made to the Marie Keating Foundation (www.mariekeating.ie) or The Alzheimer Society of Ireland at (alzheimers.ie)
