SMITH Hugo (Laytown, Co Meath and formerly of Aughaloora, Kilnaleck, Co Cavan) January 12th 2026. Peacefully, at The Mater Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Vivian. Sadly missed by his wife, his sister Mary, brothers Oliver, Tony and Jerome, his mother-in-law Segundina, sisters-in-law Breda, Rose, Marlita, Jemma and Alma, brothers-in-law Michael and Christopher, nieces Michelle, Annmarie, Pauline, Carmel, Oonagh, Deirdre and Erin, nephews Barry, Martin, Niall, Eugene, David, Donovan, Ryan, Liam and Cillian, relatives, and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his home on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday morning at 11am in Sacred Heart Church, Laytown (A92 PF20). Burial afterwards in Reilig Mhuire, Piltown.

House private at all other times please.

A Remembrance Mass for the late Hugo will be offered in St Patrick's Church, Aughaloora on Sunday morning January 25th at 9am.

Please note that parking outside the church is reserved for immediate family members only. Public car parking is available a short walk away at the Parochial Hall (A92 EK59) and at the larger car park between the two primary schools (A92 H762)
