Ignatius (Ignus) Harney

 

The death has occurred of Ignatius (Ignus) Harney of Harney's Bar, Barrack Street, Loughrea and formerly of Tynagh, Co.Galway.

 

Ignus passed away peacefully on the 4th of March 2026, in the care of the wonderful staff of Galway Hospice following a short illness.

 

Predeceased by his beloved wife Moira, parents Molly & Ignatius and sister Rosalie.

 

Ignus will be forever loved and deeply missed by his sisters Máire (Regan), Templemore, Co Tipperary, Breeda (Delany), Longwood, Co.Meath and his brother Michael in Tynagh.

 

Ignus will be fondly and lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, wonderful neighbours, many friends and also by the present and past staff of Harney's bar.

 

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

 

Ignus will respose at St. Ignatius Funeral Home, Duniry (H62 WY82), this Friday 6th March from 5 to 7.30pm

 

Requiem Mass for Ignatius Harney on Saturday 7th March at 12pm in Tynagh Church. Burial immediately afterwards in Tynagh Cemetery.

 

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Galway hospice.
