The death has occurred of Imelda GARTLAND (née Gaffney).

Late of Ashe Lane, Royal Canal, Mullingar, Co Westmeath (formerly of Killucan and Knockdrin, Co Westmeath).

We are sad to announce the peaceful passing of Imelda Gartland (née Gaffney) on 6th February 2026 in the wonderful care of the staff of the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar, with her family by her side.

Pre-deceased by her son Declan, parents Florence and Edward, sister Sheila, brothers Tommy and Vinny and many in-laws.

Imelda will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her heartbroken family - husband Des, daughter Michelle (Gibson), son Alan, cherished grandchildren Jarlath, Moya, Jack, Kate, Mia, Josh, Oisin and Grace, daughters-in-law Aoife and Edel, son-in-law Ken, sisters Pamela, Florrie, Angela and Carmel, brother Pat and sister-in-law Mary, brothers-in-law John, Albert and Johnny, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Shaws Funeral Home, Bishopsgate Street, Mullingar (Eircode N91 RY65) on Monday 9th February 2026 from 4pm concluding with prayers at 6pm.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 10th February 2026 at 11am in the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar, followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery. Imelda's Mass may be viewed on the live webcam by clicking on the Funeral service link.
