Imelda Gibbons (née Dunne); Parkaree Lodge, Clara, Co Offaly, December 7th, 2024, Peacefully, surrounded by her pride and joy (La’Verne and James Jnr), following an illness stoically borne.

 

Imelda is predeceased by her infant son, William, with whom she is now, finally, reunited. She is mourned by her family, James, La’Verne, James Jnr, her adored granddaughter, Nancy, brothers and sisters and La'Verne's partner Brian.

 

May Imelda Rest in Peace.

 

 

Reposing at her home this Tuesday (10th) from 5pm to 6:30 pm. Imelda’s funeral cortège will depart from the house at 6.50pm , via her beloved Church Street, to arrive at St Brigid’s Church, Clara, at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday (11th) at 11am. Burial thereafter in the Monastery Cemetery, Clara.

The family wishes to thank Professor Jennifer Westrup and Mr Eóin Tiernan of the Beacon Hospital, Sandyford, Co Dublin, for allowing Imelda to spend her final days at home.

 

The family is most grateful to the Carmelite community of Moate Priory for the spiritual direction it provided to Imelda over the past two years, and also wish to thank Fr Michael Collins and Sister Chad, of the Archdiocese of Dublin and the Beacon Hospital respectively.
