James (better known as Gussie) Bartley

The death has occurred of James Bartley (Gussie), 23 McHale Road, Castlebar, on 9th February 2026, in the wonderful care of the Greenpark Nursing Home, Tuam, Co. Galway.

Predeceased by his father John and mother Honora, his brother John and sisters Kathleen and Susan.

 

He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his nephews Richard, Jerry and Jimmy and his nieces Virginia, Michelle, Dawn, Pamela and Natalie.

 

May he rest in peace.

 

The Funeral will arrive at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar on Friday 13th February for Funeral Mass at 11.00am. Afterwards, Gussie will be laid to rest in the family plot in Castlebar Old Cemetery.

 

The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on www.churchtv.ie/castlebar or can be listened to in Castlebar on the Castlebar Parish Radio 105.3fm.
