CUNNINGHAM James. Sliabh Carran, Gort, Co. Galway and late of Barry Avenue, Mervue, Galway. Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on the 28th of December 2021.

Pre-deceased by his parent’s Tommy and Bernadette.

James will forever be in the hearts of his loving family. Cherished and much loved he will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife and best friend Theresa (O’Donovan, Kilbrittain, Co. Cork). Cherished father he will be sadly missed by his daughters Aloma, Nicola, Alison, Niamh and by their partners Derek and Jenny. Granjo will forever stay in the hearts of his loving grandchildren Nicole, Caylem, Amy and Nevaeh. Fondly remembered by his siblings Marian (Connolly), Catherine (Feeney), Pat, Billy, Tommy, Bernadette (King), Ann Marie (Wright), Jacqueline (Byrne, U.S.A) & Lorraine Niland, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, uncle Sean Stockwell (U.K), aunt’s Francis (Donnellan), Nancy (Reagan) and Teresa (Quinn), by the extended Cunningham and O’Donovan families, cousins, relatives, great neighbours and a large circle of many dear friends.

The funeral will take place in line with current government guidelines and restrictions to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

James’s funeral cortege will leave his home on Friday December 31st at 10.20am to arrive at The Church Of The Holy Family Mervue, Galway, for Requiem Mass at 11.30am. Private cremation to follow in Shannon Crematorium. Donations if desired to the Galway Hospice Foundation. The funeral Mass will be live streamed on the following link https://www.churchtv.ie/mervue/ . House private by request please. Those attending the funeral are kindly asked to refrain from handshaking and sympathising and to please wear a mask at all times.
