James (Jim / Seamus) Meehan

The death has occurred of James (Jim / Seamus) Meehan. Retired Garda Sergeant, Cavanageeragh, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan & formerly Killybegs, Co. Donegal. 25th December 2025. Peacefully, surrounded by his cherished family, at his home.

Predeceased by his wife Eelish, his parents George & Teresa, his brothers George, Sean & Joe and his sister Mary.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his beloved family; his son Paul and his daughters Ann, Linda & Helen (Martin), his much-loved grandchildren; Ciaran, Sean, Aaron, Megan, Daniel, Liam, Finley, Barry & Andrew and his great-grandchildren Vanessa, Serena & Éabha, his daughter-in-law Joan, his sister Kathleen, his nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours & friends.

James will repose at his home, Cavanageeragh, A81 C793, on St. Stephen's Day, Friday, 26th December, from 2pm until 8pm.

House private at all other times.

James' Funeral cortège will leave his home on Saturday, 27th December, driving to the Pound and from there proceeding on foot, via the Bridewell, to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, A71 K253, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
