The death has occurred of James (Jimmy) Andrews – Mullingar and formerly Delvin, Co Westmeath – March 16th 2026 (peacefully) at his home in the tender care of his adoring wife and family, following an illness borne with great strength and fortitude.

Predeceased by his dear daughter Lorraine, his parents James and Mary Anne and his sister Rose (Holdwright).

Loving husband and best friend of Annette, devoted father to David, Louise, Séamus, Adrienne, Raymond, Antoinette (Andrews-Meredith) and Clare, adored grandfather of his twenty two grandchildren, great-grandfather of his six great-grandchildren and dear brother of Molly (McGrath).

Forever loved and always remembered by his wife and family, his daughters-in-law Amanda, Anna and Ciara, sons-in-law Desmond, Paul (Rowan), Robbie, Paul (Meredith) and John, nieces, nephews, extended family, his wide circle of friends and staff past and present of Andrews Construction Ltd, Mullingar Hardware Stores Ltd and Jaywood Joinery Ltd.

 

MAY JAMES’S KIND AND GENTLE SOUL REST FOREVER IN ETERNAL PEACE

 

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home (N91 K660) on Wednesday March 18th from 3.30 pm with prayers at 6 pm.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 19th at 11 am in the Cathedral of Christ the King followed by burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Marlinstown. The Mass may be viewed live on the link below.
