James (Jimmy) Downey

DOWNEY (Ballyvolane, Cork): On 8th March 2024, peacefully in the excellent care of the Stroke Unit, Cork University Hospital, JAMES (JIMMY) (late of The Royal Liver Assurance), dearly beloved husband of Anne (née Forde), much loved father of Eric, Lorraine (Horgan), Jennifer (Woods) and Kevin.

 

Sadly missed by his loving wife and family, daughter-in-law Thérèse (Wilson), sons-in-law Seán and Duncan, grandchildren Philip, Stephen and Rachel; Aisling, Ciara and Conor; and Eva, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

 

Reposing at the Mayfield Funeral Home, Old Youghal Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd. on Sunday (March 10th) from 2.00pm to 3.00pm.

Requiem Mass at 11.00am on Monday (March 11th) in St. Oliver’s Church, Ballyvolane which can be viewed here.

Funeral afterwards to St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Kilcully.
