James (Jimmy) Rooney

The death has occurred of James (Jimmy) Rooney, Mulladuff, Smithborough, Co. Monaghan and formerly Drumgola, Cavan, Thursday 7th March 2024, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy is predeceased by his mother Josephine and his father Johnny, Sisters Sheila and Bridget and his brother Paddy.

Cherished and much loved father of Grainne, Colm (Catherine), Jimmy (Geraldine) and Celine (John Connolly). Jimmy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his daughters, sons and their mother Agnes, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters Katie (Mc Guigan), Anglene (Grant) and Phyllis (Dolan), brothers Junior and Leo, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, and by all who knew and loved Jimmy.

Reposing at the residence of his daughter Celine and son-in-law John Connolly, Cloniston, Clones, (H23 AE97) tomorrow, Saturday, 9th March, from 4pm to 9pm and again Sunday, 10th March, from 2pm to 9pm with removal on Monday morning, 11th March, at 10.10 to St Alphonsus Chapel, Connons for 10.30am Funeral Mass followed by Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 12.30pm www.churchservices.tv/lakelands
