James (Jimmy) Sheerin

The death has occurred of James (Jimmy) Sheerin – Newlands, Mullingar, Co Westmeath – February 12, 2026 (peacefully) at home following an illness bravely borne, in the company of his loving wife Mary and family.

Beloved husband of Mary (Goggins Sheerin) and dear brother of Patrick. Reunited with his beloved parents Rose and Seamus.

James will be very sadly missed and always remembered by Mary and Patrick and his aunt and uncles. Also fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home Mullingar (N91 K660) on Sunday February 15th from 4.30 pm to 6 pm followed by removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30 pm.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday February 16th at 11 am followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery. The Mass may be viewed live on the link below.
