James Macken

James passed away peacefully at University Hospital Galway, on 14th January 2026 in his 99th year.

 

Predeceased by his parents, Patrick & Mary-Ann Macken, brothers, Padraic (USA), John Joe, (Doorath) and May Walsh (Claran).

 

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Carmel, much loved father of Maria (Joyce), Joan (Twomey), Kevin, Aidan, Fiona (Van Der Werf), Dermot, Orla (McCormack), and Alan, his brother Thomas (USA).

Sadly missed, but will always be remembered by his loving family. His daughters-in-law Mary, Rosemary, Laura and Sheila, sons-in-law Peter, David, Joris and Seán, and his 25 adored grandchildren, niece, nephew, relatives, neighbours and friends.

 

James will repose at Cummins Funeral Home, Ballinrobe (F31 X236) on Friday 16th January from 5pm to 7pm, with removal to St. Patrick's Church, Kilmaine, (F31 A348). Requiem mass on Saturday 17th January, at 12 noon, followed by burial in the New Cemetery, Kilmaine.
