James O'Donovan

On November 8, 2021, James (Jim) passed peacefully in his 82nd year, in the loving care of staff of Deerpark House, beloved husband of Joanne, loving father of Peter (Canada) and Molly (Spain), grandfather of Jordan, Sheldon, Declan and Elisa Nuala Saporta O’Donovan, son of the late William and Josephine, dear brother of Sr. Aelred (South Africa). Sadly missed by his loving family, relatives and friends.

You surrounded us all in loving grace.

James will be reposing for family and friends in Coakley’s Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry on Wednesday Nov 10, from 11am to 11.30am followed by his Funeral Service at 11.30am.  Following Government and HSE guidelines, please wear mask if attending funeral home and refrain from shaking hands with family.

Cremation Private.

Memorial for Jim will follow in safer times.

Donations in lieu of flowers if desired to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.

The O’Donovan family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Pastor David Ross and the community of Bantry Christian Fellowship, the Alzheimer’s Society, home help in Bantry, staff of Bantry General Hospital, staff of Deerpark House, Dr Michael Kingston and the staff of Bantry Bay Medical for all their wonderful care of James.
