James O'Sullivan

Reenrour East, Bantry, Cork

On November 28th, 2024, JAMES (JIMMY) former Army Corporal, U.N. Peacekeeper serving in the Congo and Eircom employee for 25 years, passed away peacefully following a period of ill health, surrounded by his loving family at Bantry General Hospital. Beloved husband of Mary and father to Colm and Alan.

He will be sadly missed by his loving family, beloved grandson Simon, his brother Billy, daughter-in-law Caroline, son-in-law Tim, loving cousin Martina O’Sullivan and her daughter’s Pauline and Aine, along with a host of friends and neighbours from his long life in Bantry.

Reposing at Coakley's Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry on Sunday Dec 1st from 5.30pm to 7.00pm with vigil prayers at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Monday Dec. 2nd at 12noon, at St. Finbarr’s Church, Bantry (to view live stream please click here), followed by a reception at the Maritime Hotel, Bantry. Cremation service on Tuesday December 3rd, at 1pm at the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy (to view live stream please click here).

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses of Bantry General Hospital for the dedicated and thoughtful care they provided to James during his illness. In lieu of flowers, they would appreciate if any donations could be made to Friends of Bantry General Hospital c/o Bantry General Hospital.
