James ''Pat'' Boylan

Mulcaun, Glencar, Leitrim

James “Pat” Boylan of Pearl River, New York, formerly of Mulcaun, Glencar, Co Leitrim passed away on December 29, 2025. He was 86 years old.

 

Pat worked as a custodian for the Orangetown School District, retiring in 2000 after many years of dedicated service. He was born on April 19, 1939, in Ireland to Patrick Boylan and Jane McGee.

 

A proud Irishman, Pat deeply loved his country and heritage. He was a founding member of the Rockland Irish Cultural Center and a longtime, devoted parishioner of St. Aedan Roman Catholic Church. Pat was sharp-witted and had a sense of humor. Pat was a jokester who loved to kid the grandchildren. He enjoyed stirring the pot with political talk, playing cards with friends, and sharing laughs with those around him. He was a loyal friend, a good husband, and always there when you needed him.

 

Pat is survived by his beloved wife, Anne (Nancy), and his sister Jane McGee; his stepchildren, Barbara (Chris), and Rose (Anthony); his step-grandchildren, Jessica (Will), Stephanie (Steve), Emily, Sierra, AJ and Louis, as well as his step great-grandchildren, Odin and Cole. He is survived by his sister in law Dympna Boylan, nieces and nephews Maura Hallinan (McGee), Jane Boylan-O'Dowd, Kenneth and Tommy McGee and other family members in Ireland.

 

He was predeceased by Margaret Boylan, Terrence “Sunny” Boylan, and his stepson, Patrick McHugh.

 

Visitation will be held at Wyman Fisher Funeral Home on Sunday, January 4, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, at St. Aedan Roman Catholic Church. Cremation will be private.

 

In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make donations in Pat’s memory to the Hudson Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mass will be celebrated for the repose of Pat's soul in St Osnat's Church, Glencar on Saturday 24th January at 6pm.
