James Sheehy

 

SHEEHY (Ballylinch, Baltimore and formerly of Gloucester, USA.): On March 20th 2026 peacefully in the exceptional care of St Joseph’s Ward - at the long term care unit St Finbarr’s Hospital, Cork surrounded by his family. JAMES predeceased by his parents Donal and Tessie Sheehy and his cousin Eileen Whooley.

Deeply mourned by his brothers Pat, Donie, Dermot, Anthony and Michael, sisters Maureen (Whooley) and Kathleen (Rochford), brother in law Colin Whooley, sisters in law Breda, Betty, Rosanne and Geraldine and his loyal friend Debbie. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and large circle of friends in Ireland and the USA.

 

Reposing in Hurley & O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Skibbereen on Sunday March 22nd 2026 from 4pm to 6pm followed by Prayers. Requiem Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Rath on Monday March 23rd 2026 at 12 noon. This will be livestreamed here. Funeral afterwards to Tullagh Cemetery.

 

 

A special word of thanks to the staff of St Joseph’s Ward St Finbarr’s long term care unit, to the staff of Cork University Hospital, the Medical Centre Skibbereen, and to all who cared for and supported James with such kindness and dedication.
