James Slattery

James (Jimmy) Slattery, Gortnaskehy, Araglin, Co. Cork, in his 95th year, passed away peacefully on Thursday, 10 July 2025, in the wonderful care of Corpus Christi Nursing Home, Mitchelstown. James is predeceased by his devoted wife Margaret (nee Hynes) and cherished by his daughter Irene (McDonnell). Fondly remembered by his grandson Rory, son-in-law Denis, relatives, relations-in-law, his neighbours in Araglin, his fellow work colleagues in the Department of Agriculture and Galtee Foods Mitchelstown, and many dear friends.

Reposing at Martin Neligan & Son’s Funeral Home, The Old Train Station, Fermoy (P61 K682), on this Sunday evening the 13th from 5pm to 7pm followed by removal to The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Araglin. Requiem Mass on Monday the 14th at 12 midday. Burial afterwards in Araglin Cemetery.
