Jim Harkin

Jim Harkin, The Claddagh, Galway and formerly of New York City and “The Thatch Pub”, Headford, Co. Galway passed away peacefully at the University College Hospital, Galway in the loving arms of his wife Rita on 13th October 2025.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Margaret Harkin, brother Kiernan and sisters Margie and Annie.

Jim will be sadly missed by his loving wife Rita (née Monaghan, Blacksod, Belmullet), sister Winnie, brother Frankie, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, kind neighbours and many friends.

May His Kind and Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Jim will lie in repose at McDonnell’s Funeral Home, Belmullet (Eircode - F26 VP62) on Friday evening from 4.30 until 6 o’clock with the funeral arriving at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Aughleam (Eircode - F26 DN79) at 7.30. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock followed by private cremation.
