Jim (Shea) Crofton

Jim (Shea) Crofton of Darragh Park, Wicklow Town and formerly Wexford Town who passed away in his 93rd year on Saturday 11th April 2026 at St Vincent’s University Hospital. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (née Knowles) and his son Jimmy. Lovingly remembered by his sons Michael and Sean, brothers Tommy, John and Vivien, Goddaughter Noelle, grandson James, great grandchildren James and Amelia and by the extended Crofton and Knowles families and his friends.

May I walk towards Christ in the footsteps of St Francis always.

Jim will repose at Flannery's Funeral Home, Bachelors Walk, Wicklow Town from 5pm until 7pm on Wednesday. Removal on Thursday morning from the family home at 11.40am walking via St Patrick’s Road to St Patrick's Church, arriving for funeral Mass at 12 noon after which Jim will be laid to rest in Rathnew Cemetery.

The family would like to express their immense gratitude to all the staff of St Lucey’s ward at St Vincent’s University Hospital for the compassionate care shown to Jim in his final days and to all the staff at Salem Medical for their care and help to Jim over many years.
