Jimmy Lonergan

Jimmy Lonergan, Boolavounteen, Ballinamult, Co. Waterford who died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, and in the exceptional and kind care of the staff of the Pine Ward at University Hospital Waterford on Saturday 7th February 2026.

Predeceased by his parents, Ned and Kitty Lonergan; his loving wife, Mary; and treasured son, Richard; brother, Fergus; and sister, Catherine Hoole.

Jimmy will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kay; son, Eamonn; sister-in-law, Cissie O’Donnell; son-in-law, Liam Tobin; daughter-in-law, Una; his adored grandchildren, Laura, Caoimhe, Darragh, Cillian, Brian and Tomás; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Finn, Oisín and Ódie; his sisters, Hannah Nugent, Mary Hickey and Bridget Quinlan; his brothers, John, Bernie and Tom; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May Jimmy Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Drohan’s Funeral Home, Dungarvan (Eircode X35XF67) on Monday, 9th February, from 5p.m with removal at 7p.m to St. Mary’s Church, Touraneena. Requiem Mass will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 10th, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
