Jimmy Somers
Somers, Jimmy (Clontarf and Cabra West, former General President of SIPTU and Labour Party Dublin City Councillor) – January 12, 2024, peacefully at the Mater Hospital, cherished husband of the recently deceased Alice, pre-deceased by his brothers Tom, Frank and John; lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children Jimmy, Derek and Amanda, son-in-law Kevin, his adored grandchildren Jack, Dan, Alice and Aidan, his brothers William and Eddie, sisters Margaret and Mona, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, kind neighbours, comrades in the Labour and Trade Union movements and his many friends.
Reposing at Kirwans Funeral Home, Fairview Strand, on Wednesday (Jan 17) with family in attendance from 5 o’clock until 7 o‘clock. Requiem Mass on Thursday (Jan 18) in St. Anthony’s Church, Clontarf at 10 o’clock. Funeral thereafter to Glasnevin Cemetery.
