and formerly of Percival Street, Kanturk, Co. Cork

Joan passed away peacefully on 20th April 2026, in the wonderful care of all the staff at Gowran Abbey Nursing Home, Gowran, Co. Kilkenny

Beloved mother of John, Jerry, Denis and Sinéad and sister of Sr Noreen and Denis (Dinny) Murphy. Joan will be deeply missed by her loving family, daughters-in-law Eileen, Carolyn and Sharon, son-in-law Edward, grandchildren Aisling, Eoin, Siobhán, Christopher, Bryan, Dillon, Tully, Cal, Finn, Evie, Dan and Ella, great granddaughter Loua, brothers-in-law Fr Jim Curtis (Clongeen) and Pat Horgan, sister-in-law Mary, nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.

Joan is predeceased by her beloved husband Denis, her parents Jeremiah (Jerry) and Hannah and her sisters Ann Murphy, Abina (Bea) Madden and Peg Horgan.

Reposing at Johnston’s Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny, (R95 XE00) on Wednesday (April 22nd) from 5pm concluding at 7pm with Prayers at 6.30pm. Removal on Thursday morning (April 23rd) to St. Colman’s Church, Clara, (R95 K290) arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon.

Funeral afterwards to St Stephen’s Cemetery, Irishtown, New Ross (Y34 D342) arriving at 2.30pm approx.
