Joan Hynes

Formerly of Castlegar and Fr. Griffin Road Post Office.

Predeceased by her husband Paddy, her parents Katie and Patrick, her brothers Tom and Paddy, her sisters Mary, Bridie and recently deceased Nora.

It is with sincere sadness that we announce the passing of Joan who died peacefully in University Hospital Galway surrounded by her family. Will be sadly missed by her stepchildren with whom she shared many years and a lasting bond. She is also deeply mourned by her brother Frank (U.S.A), her sisters Kathleen (U.S.A) and Agatha (Canada), her sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May Her kind and gentle soul rest in peace.

Joan's Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday 25th of April 2026 at 12 noon, in St. Columba's Church Castlegar (H91 E4C9). Joan will then be laid to rest with her parents in Ballydugan Cemetery, Loughrea, Co. Galway.

The family wish to acknowledge the wonderful care given to Joan for the last number of years by all who looked after her, especially Miriam.
