Joanie McCourt  (née Farrell) Goff Street, Roscommon Town. April 9th, 2023. (Peacefully); in her 95th year, surrounded by her family and in the dedicated and attentive care of the wonderful staff at the Sacred Heart Home, Roscommon. Beloved wife of the late George and much loved mother to Eddie (Co Clare), Mary Raftery, Paula Kelly, George, Johnny, Maggie McCourt (Canada), Kevin (Indonesia), and the late Siobhán Finneran. She will be greatly missed by her family, their partners, her 24 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, great great-grandson Pádraig, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many good friends.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon on Tuesday evening from 5 o’c until 7 o’c. Removal from the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Gerry Kelly, Hawthorn Drive, Roscommon on Wednesday morning at 10.30 o’c arriving to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon (via Main Street) for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’c. Burial afterwards in St Coman’s Cemetery. For those wishing to offer their sympathies online, we suggest using the condolence link below. The McCourt family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all those who looked after Joanie over the last number of years and also to everyone for their kindness and support at this time.
