JOE DESMOND

JOE DESMOND (Elsinore Rise, Midleton, formerly of FÁS), Lifelong member of Midleton GAA, Delegate to Cork County GAA Board for 30 years and former Chairman of Midleton Holy Rosary Brass & Reed Band.

 

On December 22nd 2025 passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the tender loving care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Community Hospital, Midleton.

 

Beloved husband of the late Maura (née Fuller), loving father of Helen (Gaffey), Eric, Móire and the late Kieran. Sadly missed also by his son-in-law Eddie, Eric’s fiancée Marian, much loved grandchildren Cormac, Gemma, Sarah, Sinéad, Edward, Thomas, Aileen and Ben, great-grandsons Jacob and Odhrán, brothers-in-law Tom and Oliver, sister-in-law Carmel, extended family and relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

 

Sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Midleton Community Hospital who cared for Joe.

 

May Joe Rest In Peace.

 

Reposing at Hyde’s Funeral Home, Drury’s Avenue, Midleton P25VW02 on Tuesday 23rd from 5.30pm – 7.30pm.

 

Requiem Mass on Wednesday (Christmas Eve) at 11am in the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Midleton followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Joe will always be deeply loved and cherished by all his family.
