John Ahern

Ahern (Kilnap Place, Farranree); On December 18th 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the tender loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff at the Mercy University Hospital, John “Jockey” (late Taxi co-op); Much-loved husband of the late Margo and loving dad of Caroline, Catherina and John. Predeceased by his son-in-law Ger Barrett, his sisters, brothers and especially the recently deceased Donie.

Sadly missed by his loving daughters, son, adored grandson Gerard, daughter-in-law Gráinne, sisters-in-law Catherine, Eileen, Joan, Noreen and Jacinta, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Visitation at O’Connor Bros. Funeral Home, North Gate Bridge on Sunday 21st December from 4.00pm to 5.00pm with prayers at 4.45pm. Requiem Mass on Monday 22nd December at 11.00am in The Church of the Resurrection, Farranree. Funeral afterwards to Dun Bolg Cemetery. John’s Requiem Mass can be viewed on mycondolences.ie.
