The death has occurred of
John Aherne
John Aherne, Castleredmond, Midleton & formerly of Cullen, Mallow, on January 7th, 2026 peacefully at Cork University Hospital and previously in the exceptional care of the staff at Ballincurrig Care Centre. John, beloved husband of the late Sheila (nee French), much loved dad of Susan, Eileen, John Michael, Paul, Chris and Theresa.
Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, their husbands and wives, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a large community of extended family and friends.

John will Repose in O’Farrell’s Funeral Home, Riverside Way, Midleton on Friday, January 9th from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Reception into St. Colman’s Church, Ballintotis on Saturday 10th for 11 a.m. Funeral Mass followed by service and cremation at 4 p.m. at The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy.
