BOWEN (Cork) On 29th August 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the tender care of the Cork University Hospital, JOHN, late of Churchfield Terrace East, Churchfield. Dearly beloved husband of Betsy (nee Kavanagh), cherished father of John, Samantha, Mark, Tricia, Deborah and Anna and devoted grandfather of Robyn, Erin, Cara, Cathal, Adam, Tadhg, Kate and Darragh.
Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife, family, brothers, sisters, daughters-in-law Denise and Anne, sons-in-law David and Chris, extended family, neighbours and his many friends.
Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street on Sunday (31st August) with family in attendance at 3.00pm and Prayers at 4.00pm. Requiem Mass on Monday (1st September) at 1.00pm in the Church of the Ascension, Gurranabraher. If you wish to view the Mass, click on https://www.gurranabraherparish.ie/webcam/ and follow link. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary’s New Cemetery, Curraghkippane. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Irish Kidney Association.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the CUH for the exceptional care provided and a special thanks to Ward 4C and the Dialysis Unit for their amazing support at this time. We especially want to thank Dr. Tara O’Sullivan and Professor Michael Clarkson for their care in John’s final days.
