It is with great sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of our much-loved John Crean, who died peacefully at home - his happy place - on Saturday, 10th May.
John was the devoted husband and soulmate of Catherine, and the proud and loving dad of Eva and Chloe, who will carry his love with them always.
He was predeceased by his dear dad Ernie, his mother-in-law Breda, and father-in-law Jim.
John will be missed more than words can say by his heartbroken wife and daughters, his dear mum Maeve, sister Gráinne, brothers David and Conor, sisters- and brothers-in-law Sheena, Richard, Sandra, Edelle, Eileen, Tom, Brian, and Alan, his cherished nephews and niece Noah, Rua, Daniel, Dominic, Ella, Ted, and Jim, his aunt Fiona and uncle Adrian, cousins, extended family, wonderful friends, and his much-loved colleagues and students at UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science and UCD Conway Institute.
"John endeared himself to everyone he met, exuding warmth, empathy, a thirst for knowledge and discovery, and a boundless zest for life, fun, and joy - all that made him the uniquely respected, most kind-hearted man and scientist he was"
Rest in Peace John
