John F O’Brien, Fairview, Cleveland,Ohio and formerly Atheagh, Kiltoom, Co.Roscommon.

October 21st 1933 – February 10th 2026.

John passed away peacefully in his 92nd year, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Predeceased by his daughter Noreen, parents Kitty and John, brother Hubert (Atheagh) and sister May Cody (Nenagh).

He will be sadly missed by his wife Eileen (née MaGuire), daughters, Cathy Lang and Patricia Parente, son John F. Jr, sisters Maeve / Georgie McCrerry (Clonmel) and Ann O’Farrell (Dublin), sons-in-law, John, Phil, and Mike.

John will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many friends and neighbours in the US and here in Ireland.

Funeral mass was held in St Angela Merici Church, Fairview Park, and followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio, on February 15th, 2026.

 

Mass in his memory will be held in St Brigid’s Church, Curraghboy, on Friday, March 20th, 2026 at 7pm.
