John Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald, John (Johnny). Portmarnock, Co. Dublin and formerly of Oileán na gCapall, Baile 'n Sceilig, Co.Kerry and late of An Garda Síochána, Ministerial Pool, Garda Headquarters. Peacefully, on 23rd October 2024 surrounded by his loving family and in the tender loving care of the nurses, carers and all the medical team in Beaumont Hospital after a short illness bravely born. Beloved husband of Mary (née O'Mahony) and adored father of Aidan, Laura, John and Claire. Loving grandfather to Caragh, Róisín, Sadhbh, Annie, Tess, Rohan, Méabh, Éabha, Emily and Grace. Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Bridgie and his sisters Mary and Eileen. Johnny will be dearly missed by his devoted wife and children, his treasured grandchildren, his brother Eamonn, sister Anne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, son-in-law Niall, daughters-in-law Siobhán and Catherine, nieces, nephews, large circle of extended family, friends, neighbours and former members of An Garda Síochána.

Reposing in Staffords Funeral Home, Golf Links Road, Portmarnock on Thursday, 24th October, from 4pm to 6pm. Removal to St. Michael the Archangel Church, Ballinskelligs, Co. Kerry on Friday evening, 25th October, for 8.15pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 11am followed by burial in Kinard Cemetery, Ballinskelligs. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Beaumont Hospital Foundation.
