John GILBOY

The death has occurred of John Gilboy, Ardcarne, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon, May 22nd 2023. Peacefully, following a short illness, surrounded by his heartbroken family. Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Lina, sisters Redempta and Frances. John will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Peggy, daughters Carmel and Mairéad, sons Shane, Pat, Tony and Kevin, his sister Maura Noone (Claremorris), brothers Raymond (Galway) and Paddy (Cootehall). Cherished grandfather to Eimear, Seán, Fiona and Júlia, Noah, Martyna, Thomas and Jonathan, Siún and Aoibhín. Sadly missed by his daughters-in-law, Ester, Renata and Aga, son-in-law Cathal and Kevin’s partner Ciara, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and his many friends.

John will repose at his home, on Tuesday (23rd May) from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. House private, please, at all other times. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Church, Cootehall, on Wednesday (May 24th) at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in Ardcarne Cemetery. Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Irish Cancer Society.
