John Hosford

The death has occurred of John Hosford, Glandore, Co. Cork (formerly of Rosebank, Skibbereen).

On May 31st, 2025, John passed away peacefully at Clonakilty Community Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Fran (née Dennehy), devoted father to Suzanne, Alex and Vicki. His sisters Jean and Rosemary, and his brother Richard. Son in laws Jimmy & Tim. Cherished grandfather of Jessica, Daniel, Rebecca, John, Matthew, and Abby and adored great-grandfather to Bee and Ford. John was loved by many, leaving behind a lasting legacy within his community.

John is now reunited with his beloved Fran. His passion for rugby was undeniable, John’s spirit, kindness, and love for the game will be remembered always.

John's funeral cortége will arrive at Abbeystrewry Church, Skibbereen at 12 noon on Wednesday, 4th June, followed by funeral service at 1pm which will be live-streamed on link below. Cremation service will take place on Thursday, 5th June at 12 noon at the Island Crematrorium, Ringaskiddy, Cork.
