John (Jackie/Sean) Gilbert

The death has occurred of John (Jackie/Sean) Gilbert, Ballinagare, Lixnaw, Co. Kerry, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday March 1st, 2026.

Predeceased by his loving parents Harry and Mollie (Carey), sister Mary (Gilbert Walsh) and infant niece Mary (Walsh).

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Teresa (Purtill), sons Alan and John Paul, daughter Sarah (Kelly), brother Harry, grandchildren Sinéad, Seán, Cara, Ava, Rhia, Róisín, Darragh and Odhran, daughters-in-law Evelyn and Niamh, son-in-law Gerry (Kelly), brother-in-law Mike Walsh, sisters-in-law Catherine and Helen, nieces and nephews, Helen, Gráinne, Brian and Danny. Extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Buckley/Finucane Funeral Home, The Village, Lixnaw, V92 F383 on Tuesday evening from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral arriving to St. Michael's Church, Lixnaw, on Wednesday at 10.45 a.m. for 11.00 a.m. requiem mass.

The family of John would like to thank all his wonderful carers for their exceptional care down through the years. Most recently the Palliative Care Community team, Staff in Aghadoe ward U.H.K., Irish Cancer Society Daffodil nurse and Dr. Damion Thomas and his team.
