John James Travers

John passed with dignity and peace in his home on 30 November 2024 after a long period of illness.

He is predeceased by his parents Michael & Mary (nee O’Brien) Travers.

John will be sadly missed by his dedicated family, his sister, brother, in-laws, cousins and close friends. His sister Anne (Mawn) and brother Michael (Tony) Travers, brother-in-law Charlie Mawn, sister-in-law Bridget (Moran) Travers. John was extremely close to his nieces and nephews; Theresa (Mawn) Wilson, Frank Mawn, Josephine (Travers) Avakian, Jennifer (Travers) McGrath, Chuck Mawn, Jessica (Travers) Juszkiewicz and their respective children Katherine, Grace, Michael, Ethan, Christine, Elizabeth, Charlie, Emily, Clare, Abby, and Thomas. John had deep connections to many of his cousins on both the O’Brien and Travers sides. And John was blessed to have wonderful neighbors. He was an active member of his community and will be long missed by many friends and neighbors.

House will be private.

John will be reposing at Shivnan’s Funeral Home, Ballyfarnon (F52WT26) on Monday, evening from 5 – 7pm, with removal to St. Joseph’s Church, Geevagh arriving at approximately 7:30. Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday December 2 at 12 Noon followed by burial in Corrig cemetery.
