John Joe Coleman

On April 11th, 2026, JOHN JOE (formerly of Furcuil, Clonakilty) passed away peacefully at his home in his 87th year, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Ann (née Cronin). Loving father of Michael, Martina (O'Leary), Linda (O'Sullivan), and Kieran. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Margaret, his sister Carmel, his brother Donal Fachtna, his four grandchildren Michael, Anthony, Shane, and Chloe, and his great-grandson Noah.

Sadly missed by his adoring wife, sons, daughters, sons-in-law John O'Leary and Donal O'Sullivan (Glengarriff), daughter-in-law Maria, his 15 grandchildren and their partners, his 12 great-grandchildren, his sister Eileen, brother-in-law Brian Martin, nephews, kind neighbours, and close friends.

May he rest in peace.

The Coleman family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Michael Kingston and all the staff at Bantry Bay Medical Centre and Bantry General Hospital, for the excellent care and kindness shown to John Joe. It is very much appreciated by all.

Reposing at Coakleys Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry on Monday April 13th from 6pm to 7.30pm with Vigil Prayers at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass at St. Josephs Church, Coomhola on Tuesday April 14th at 12 noon (to view live stream please click here), followed by burial in Kilmacomogue Cemetery. Family flowers only.
