John Joe Phelan

John Joe passed away peacefully on Sunday, 24th August 2025, surrounded by his loving family and staff at St Michael's Ward, St Columba's Hospital, Thomastown. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (Peggy nee Millea), his parents, and his brother Jim. Much loved father of Paula, Sandra, John, and Caroline. John Joe will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughter-in-law Jane, sons-in-law: Alan, Paul, and Terry, his grandchildren: Evan, Brian, Jen, Conor, Adam, Sarah, Ciaran, Laura, Rachel, Emily, Cathal, and Bobby, his nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Reposing in the Mercy Side Chapel of the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown from 4.30pm to 7pm on Tuesday, 26th August with Vigil Prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am in the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown followed by interment in St Mary's New Cemetery, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.
