John (Johnny) Collins

Formerly of Athlone, Co. Westmeath.

It is with great sadness that Johnny’s family share the news of his death with you.

Predeceased by his parents Tom and Eileen, Auburn Villas, Athlone and by his parents-in-law Frank and Margaret Lyddy, Limerick.

On Friday, May 23, 2025 John completed his life’s journey with his dearly loved wife Niamh, son Cian, daughter Eavan and daughter-in-law Aideen by his side in his beloved Galway. He was a proud Athlone man and a man of great character who is deeply mourned by his wife and children, daughter-in-law, much loved brothers and sisters Mossie, Bláithín, Noírin, Oonagh and Aidan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and amazing friends.

“It is in giving that we receive”

Johnny gave his heart and soul to everyone and everything he did. A rock for so many, may he rest in peace.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Johnny at 11 a.m. (H91W0H4). Following Mass he will be laid to rest close to his home in Rahoon cemetery. Memorial donations if desired may be made to Cancer Care West. https://www.cancercarewest.ie/donate/ Immediate family flowers only please.
