The death has occurred of the John Joseph Dowling, Trumera, Mountrath, Co. Laois, on Sunday 8th February 2026, at his home after a short illness bravely borne, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by all his family.
Beloved husband of Mary and father to Deirdre, Michael and Caroline. Sadly, missed by his loving family, son-in-law Tom (Dunlea), cousins, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath (eircode R32Y661) on Monday evening 9th February from 6.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning 10th February in St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath (eircode R32X338) at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in the St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.
John Joseph’s Requiem Mass will be live streamed on www.mountrathparish.ie
