John Joseph Gavin

John Joseph Gavin, of Burlingame, California, formerly of Moycullen, Co. Galway.

We are deeply saddened to announce the tragic passing of John, age 40, who died unexpectedly on October 11, 2024. Our dear, sweet boy John was a vibrant young man who brought joy, laughter, and light to everyone he encountered. His unique spirit and boundless generosity made him a cherished friend, and a beloved son, brother, uncle, and cousin. He truly was an extraordinary individual with a complex mind, but he found great joy in the simple things in life.

John was the adored son of Padraig and Treasa, the much-loved brother of Padraig, Joehleen, Angus, and Emer, and the fun uncle to nieces and nephew. He will also be deeply missed by countless friends who loved him for his big heart and unforgettable personality.

John’s presence will be sorely missed, but his light will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Private Funeral services will be held on November 2nd at St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA. John will also have a Mass in Moycullen, Co. Galway, Sunday November 10th at 10am.
