The death has occurred of
John Joseph Murphy
Murphy (Seskin, Bantry and formerly of Gunpoint, Schull): On January 28th, 2024, peacefully in his 91st year in the presence of his family in the loving care of the staff of Bantry General Hospital. John, beloved husband of Kathleen (née O’Donoghue, formerly of Gneeveguilla, Co. Kerry), father of Michael, Noreen (O’Donovan), Carmel, Brendan, Maria, Patricia and the late John, brother of Sr. Mary (Australia), Jo. Costello (Cape Cod), Patie (Schull) and the late Sr. Kathleen (Australia). Sadly missed by his family, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
May he rest in peace.
Reposing in Coakleys Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry on Wednesday Jan. 31st from 6.30pm to 8pm with vigil prayers at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday Feb. 1st at 12 noon at St Finbarr’s Church, Bantry (to view live stream please click here) followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery, Bantry.
Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to the Friends of Bantry General Hospital.
